Remote Start Retrofit Upgrade Program – MyBMW App Control Unlock

Bought our Remote Start Retrofit module in the past and now want to unlock the optional MyBMW App Control functionality? Lucky for you, you don’t have to miss out on the extra features! Take advantage of this upgrade program – after purchasing it, you’ll have to send us your Remote Start Retrofit module (at your own expense). We’ll then be able to physically modify its internal hardware and update the software to add the app control. 

Moreover, if you bought your Remote Start Retrofit before November 2026, you’ll also gain the Turbo Timer functionality and an additional layer of security measures introduced in the latest generation of our Remote Start modules. 

If your Remote Start Retrofit was purchased in November 2026 or later, your module will already have the provisions above installed. In such cases, this upgrade program adds the MyBMW App Control only.

IMPORTANT! The product upgrade price applies to US customers ONLY; for non-US orders other logistic, handling, and/or shipping fees may apply. If you are located outside of the United States, reach out to our Sales Team for an individual Upgrade Program cost estimate. 

Please note that the upgrade process takes 7 business days (from the moment we’ve received your Remote Start module). When sending us your module, make sure that it is packaged securely in a box no bigger than 7.8x7.4x3.9 inches (20x19x10 cm) and with a maximum weight of 2.2 lbs (0.5 kg). We reserve the right to deny the upgrade for damaged modules or if the package dimensions exceed the ones listed above. Please read Section XIV of our Terms & Conditions for more information.

Warranty: This upgrade is covered by the warranty provided with the original purchase of your Remote Start Retrofit. The original warranty terms and period remain unchanged.

How to Use MyBMW App Control?

Due to popular demand, we’ve introduced the optional MyBMW App integration that allows you to control our Remote Start module from the official app. To use it, simply press the “Auto A/C” pre-conditioning button in the app to start up the engine along with the last A/C setting you left it on. Please note that the availability of this feature is subject to the vehicle model, ConnectedDrive availability, and network coverage. 

Turbo Timer

This feature lets you protect your turbocharger and keep it lubricated even after the most spirited drives, allowing the engine to run for 2–3 minutes (customizable) before shutting it off.
