Getting a used BMW never guarantees 100% knowledge of its past – especially what kind of coding changes it's undergone for the last couple of years. Something you should know though, for safety purposes, is how many key fobs it had enabled or disabled by the previous owners.

So, to give you a clear picture of your key fob status, we offer a key fob decoding service, through which we’ll determine how many keys were added to your BMW and block those ones you did not get with the car but are still active in your vehicle's memory. In the event you lose your key and worry it will fall into the wrong hands, we can also deactivate your BMW key fob to make it unusable. Our BimmerTech technicians will take care of it all quickly and painlessly via remote coding session.

BMW key fob deactivation is carried out via a remote cable coding session, all from the comfort of your home. It is a very simple process that takes no more than 30 minutes. After you complete your order, we send you a coding cable (if you don't have one and add it in the top Option section). You should receive it within 2-7 business days. Once you have it, you will be able to schedule a coding session for the time that suits you best. During the session, just plug in the cable, follow the instructions from our technician and he’ll take care of the deactivation process for you.

To prepare for your coding session you will need a laptop running Microsoft Windows and a WiFi internet network that you can connect to in your car. A Mac computer running Windows is not compatible with E-Series vehicles, so in this case you will be required to use a native Windows PC. The coding cable must be plugged into a regular USB port for E-Series vehicles, or an Ethernet port for F-Series and G-Series vehicles.
