Please note that this is a separate BMW Dashcam Retrofit, not a BMW Drive Recorder factory option activation. Instead of using the 360 view cameras to capture low-quality, short-length clips, our Dashcam Retrofit records high-quality videos from a dedicated front-facing camera.

Our BMW Dashcam Retrofit was specifically designed to fit the interior of your car. While common third-party dashcams need to be mounted on your windshield, this product will blend in with the front section of the headliner trim. Not only is it much more elegant, but it also does not attract as much attention and makes the camera difficult to spot from the outside.

UHD 4K resolution & 30 FPS recordings

Whereas the factory-available BMW Drive Recorder option allows only low-quality recording of short video clips, our BMW Dashcam Retrofit provides you with UHD quality. Maybe you are not recording the next blockbuster, but being able to read license plates in hit-and-run scenarios is invaluable!

Compatible with SD Cards

Easily transfer your captured video clips from your BMW Dashcam Retrofit to your PC for a fullscreen preview and analysis. 

Companion app available

Our dashcam is compatible with a downloadable third-party app, called Viidure, which allows:

• Live video preview.
• Browsing through your recent recordings.
• Changing various settings, like adjusting the time loop (1/2/5 minutes), video quality, or time zone.  

The app is easily configurable and compatible with both iOS and Android.

Installing this BMW Dashcam Retrofit is plug-and-play. However, it requires the removal of the mirror housing and some of the interior trim. It is possible to power the camera from one of two places, depending on your preference (the install time might vary for each connection). The whole process should take you at most 1 hour.
